Rotary Club of Whittier Announces 26^th Annual High School Senior
­All-Star Baseball Classic

WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA – The Rotary Club of Whittier announces its ^26th Annual All-Star Baseball Classic to be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at York Field in Whittier. The Baseball Blue Team will be coached by Steve Rojas of Whittier Christian High School and the Red Team will be coached by Matthew Schwarz of Schurr High School. Player rosters are below.

The Home Run Derby begins at 4:30 PM and the All-Star Baseball game will follow at 6:30 PM. The games are open to the public. Admission for all events will be $10.00 for Adults; $5.00 for high school students with valid student ID; and Free for Children under 12 years. In addition to honoring our graduating senior players, the All Star Classic is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Whittier Foundation which supports numerous local non-profit organizations and their projects.

The twelve (12) area high schools represented in the Classics include:  California HS, El Rancho HS, La Mirada HS, La Habra HS, La Serna HS, Montebello HS, Pioneer HS, Saint Paul HS, Santa Fe HS, Schurr HS, Whittier HS and Whittier Christian HS.

Player rosters:

Fans are encouraged to bring their appetites, as our snack bar features grilled cheeseburgers and hot dogs, as well as chips, candy, and drinks.

Sponsors of this year’s game includes: Grand Slam Sponsors – Drs. Dennis and Kathy Sargent; Home Run Sponsor – Rasmussen Gas Logs & Grills; and All-Star Sponsors Davenport Partners,  and YMCA of Greater Whittier. Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities and fund projects in our community.

The Rotary Club of Whittier, whose motto is “Service Above Self”, supports numerous Youth and Community service organizations in the Whittier area. Grants to these organizations in 2023 exceeded $20,000. In addition, the Rotary Club recognizes the outstanding teachers from the Whittier Union High School District, donates books to the Whittier City School District, builds pollinator gardens in local schools, and provides scholarships to students at Whittier College and Rio Hondo. We also built a house in a day in Tecate, Mexico.
