The 21st Annual All-Star Baseball and Softball games are being hosted by the Rotary Club of Whittier for senior All-Stars from our local high schools. The high schools represented in the All-Star Classics will include: California, El Rancho, La Habra, La Mirada, La Serna, Montebello, Pioneer, Saint Paul, Santa Fe, Sonora, Whittier and Whittier Christian.
The All-Star games will be played at the City of Whittier’s York Field on Friday, June 9, 2017. The Softball game will begin at 3:00 PM. The boys’ Home Run Derby will start at 4:30 PM with the baseball game following at 6:00 PM. Due to scheduling conflicts (finals, graduations and grad nights), we will not be holding a pre-game banquet this year. We anticipate that Al Martin and other former major league baseball players will attend the game as “honorary managers.”
Proceeds from this event will benefit local youth and community agencies in the area. Last year, the Rotary Club of Whittier contributed over $25,000 to 17 different agencies, recognized the finest teachers in WUHSD, held two dental education and screening clinics for 800 elementary students, awarded college scholarships and supported international projects. With your help, we can do even more!
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these senior athletes, and it is only made possible through the generosity of our sponsors, advertisers and donees. Please view opportunities to support the All-Star Classic.
